Dope News: Phoenix Bill Aims for Legalized Personal Use

by January 6, 2015 0 comments

Right now in Phoenix, Arizona, a state representative is working on a bill which would allow for the legalization of personalized use of marijuana within the state. Which, really, we at CyberPot, think is good news for everyone.

State representative, Mark Cardenas, says he began the bill because he saw that the system wasn’t working. Stating that, “‘getting tough on crime’’ hasn’t “‘reduced the number of people smoking marijuana.’”(

The ever exciting bill, which we’re all currently glowing about, would allow for personal use by anyone 21 and over, possession of up to an ounce of and even cultivation of plants. By passing this bill, Cardenas believes that it could cut costs in the state’s courts, jails, and prisons. Following the lead of states like Colorado, Arizona, through taxation in lieu of law enforcement, could see an increase in funding for things like healthcare and education.

Cardenas, like the rest of us, hopes that this bill will be heard and passed as soon as possible.

Sure, it’s not reformation for the whole country, but the more states that legalize, the more there are to set a precedent for the rest of the country.
