RATM and Lance Armstrong Have A New Song About Juicing

by January 30, 2015 0 comments

Rage Against the Machine, although no longer together, and probably past ever reuniting, is still ever popular. With ex-frontman Zack De La Roca having been featured on Run The Jewels’ critically acclaimed RTJ2 in 2014, as well as Tom Morello’s spat with a restaurant for not having seated him, the band has remained as popular as it always was. Now, the bands ex-bassist Tim Commerford, is making headlines, with his new music project Future User, which seems to mainly be focused on sports-themed music.

Last year, Commerford released a song whose music video featured former tennis champion, John McEnroe and he has now released a song featuring shamed cyclist Lance Armstrong. The “Live Strong” founder, responsible for those obnoxious yellow bracelets everyone was so fond of, was defamed for admittedly using performance enhancing drugs, at which point everyone trash-binned their bracelets.

In doing so, folks traded in novelty elastic band jewelry, for indignation. A fair trade, I think.

Commerford told Rolling Stone “The amount of attention given to PEDs is incredible,” he continued “especially when you consider the amount of drugs – recreational, illegal and pharmaceutical – that America supports and profits from.”

Hey, we at CyberPot have similar sentiments. Though, we’re not sure if pot is a performance enhancer. However, maybe Commerford will make a song with Michael Phelps, who received similar backlash to Armstrong regarding his (Phelps’s) marijuana use. Let’s face it though, Phelps is Superman.

The bizarre electronic pseudo-punk song features a voice message from Armstrong in regards to “juicing” (or steroid use). Apparently the cyclist and the bassist are close friends, and biking buddies, so they found it only appropriate to make this song together.

Sure guys.
