With the right amount of friends, Bumpie’s party will spin out of control in this Wii U party game. Grab the gamepad and turn the TV off for Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party!

Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party playing alone is the equivalent to going to a karaoke bar that has private booths and singing all alone, questioning existence. To get the full Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party experience, play with many people and preferably with individuals that are very attractive. Is Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party the definitive bottle spinning game? Cubed3 kisses and tells.

Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party is not like many other party games on the Wii U. The game only requires the gamepad, a few Wii remotes and nothing else. The TV is not required to play Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party, players are meant to sit in a circle around the gamepad. What is required however is friends or family, at bare minimum two players is what Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party demands to get the full Bumpie experience. Closer to a board game or charades almost, Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party core gameplay is focused on actual physical challenges that players have to perform in real life, using the gamepad to keep a score and tossing the Wii remote around or using it in some goofy manner. There are is fair amount of physical contact that players will have to make with one another, ranging from things like a dancing the tango, spinning each other around, or just generally acting stupid. The more friends or family involved with Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party, the better chances the players are likely to have a good time.

STB1

What little graphics Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party has displayed on the gamepad are admittedly simple yet charming. A bit on the bland side, they are easy on the eyes and kinda resemble some of the graphics or icons from the Katamari Damacy games. Visuals are certainly not important in a game like this- they are utilitarian and get the job done, but it is appreciated that the aesthetics had some attention.

While there are some unlocks, they are not really important and are just things like stickers or icons. With about 23 minigames there is a reasonable amount of content here for such a modestly priced game, then again all these games can be played without purchasing the game too. It is worth noting that the developer has promised free updates and DLC over time.

GAMEPLAY

Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party is a game that is unplayable without at least one partner. Even with just one partner the experience feels hallow and stupid. Best to be stupid in a larger group so the misery is shared and diminished. Use a Wii remote in silly ways to make yourself forget that life hurts. Sit around gamepad in a group and worship it like at a satanic mass. Being fair- Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party does everything it sets out to do and that is worth something. Cannot fault the game for succeeding at its goal.

GRAPHICS

An irrelevant feature for this game, but they are presented as fairly cute Katamri-esque flat graphics that are easy on the eyes.

SOUND

Sound is minimalistic to nonexistent. Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party dosent use the TV and uses the gamepad’s speaker only.

Value

Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party is a cheap game that can only be recommended to really attractive people who like touching one another. Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party will give these players excuses to engage in physical contact. If the buyer is attractive and knows attractive people, then Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party is a recommendation that will be a worthy purchase. Users who want an actual video game should ignore this title, it is not for them.

Final Score

FINAL SCORE

For the right customer, Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party will be a lot of fun. For people who want a substantial video game, save your money. Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party is an auspicious title for a sociable group of people who just want to party. Spin the Bottle: Bumpie’s Party does what it aims to do and to be fair it doesn’t stumble, then again it is very hard for a game to screw up when the players are the ones doing all the physical legwork required for the game to be good.      6
